Description

Principle assistant to Head of Operations, APAC in conceptualizing, leading, monitoring and implementing improvement programs in the APAC region. Regional programs may cover any administrative, information system, operational cost, business development, including exploratory areas.

  • Research, data collection, conceptualizing and preparation of high quality presentation and proposal materials.
  • Key driver of excellence programs in the APAC region.
  • Responsible for improvement programs planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, etc. under the direction of Head of Operations, APAC.
  • Designing/documenting processes, ensuring SOPs and KPIs are drafted and implemented for programs within the business units.
  • Identify bottlenecks/gaps/problems and recommend better processes to achieve higher efficiency.
  • Anticipate and articulate issues to provide resolution. Perform root cause analysis, data review and process improvement.
  • Engage with different stakeholders on improvement programs.
  • Provide reporting per management requirements on processes and due diligence.
  • Conduct business requirement workshops, align with operations and IT on the proposed solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum a college degree from an internationally recognized University. Business, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience preferably within the logistics, supply chain or freight forwarding industry.
  • Experience in project management, warehousing, transportation, supply chain design, etc.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, WMS/ERP systems, project management tools (SharePoint, MS Project)
  • Self-starter who is attentive to details, highly organize and with emotional maturity.
  • Strong analytical background (e.g. financial statements, process flow, system information flow and reports analysis)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Proactive problem solver, expected to present problems and recommendations simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks in both operationally and commercially proposals.
  • Ability to work comfortably with incomplete information and deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment to meet project deadline.
  • Travel within the APAC region (30%).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin (to liaise with Mandarin speaking counterparts)..

Description

Responsible for all areas of tax for the region – corporate tax, transfer pricing, GST, withholding tax, etc.

  • Support tax planning and ensure tax is minimised for the region
  • Business partnering support through tax advisory on new business set-ups, transactions, process improvements, etc.
  • Responsible for all areas of tax locally and regionally on both aspects – compliance and advisory
  • Responsible for transfer pricing work. Coordinate and prepare transfer pricing documentation of the region with external TP advisors to ensure that they comply with local transfer pricing regulations
  • Ensure adequate current tax provision and deferred tax asset/ liability in the region
  • Identify tax initiatives that may qualify for tax incentives and grants in the respective countries
  • Establish and maintain a tax efficient and compliant structure locally and as a group
  • Identify and address potential tax implications on project undertaken in the region
  • Responsible for all tax reportings to HQ
  • Keep up to date with tax law changes, translate tax implications of the changes into business impacts and required actions
  • Assist with financial and management reporting function when the need arises
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superior

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience preferably in a Tax Department in a Big 4 firm and/ or relevant tax experience in a MNC
  • Strong technical knowledge of corporate taxes and transfer pricing regulations
  • Experience in handling international tax issues, cross-border taxes and transfer pricing
  • Responsible, analytical, organised and a team player
  • Independent, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin speaking counterparts.
  • Traveling in Asia Pacific region may be required

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Identify and analyze business requirements from both commercial and technical perspective.
