Position : Trade Manager
Salary: $3,000 - $5,000 + good benefit or negotiate
Report to : Chief Representative
Working location: Ho Chi Minh city
The Trade Manager is responsible for having a profound understanding of, and genuine relationships with, customers in-country. The principal role of the position is not only to sell, but importantly to understand their customers on an intimate level.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of customers’, including:
+ Product mix usage;
+ Open demand per commodity per by month;
+ Customers’ buying and pricing ideas;
+ Location and capacity of each asset, if any;
+ Capacity utilization;
+ Amount of storage space at each asset;
+ Logistical access points to each facility;
- Have strong personal relationships with customers;
- Provide customers with market information, such as global crop outlooks, weather conditions, trends, market opinions, product suggestions, etc.
- Actively visit customers outside of the office, including lunches, dinners, office visits, and other engagements;
- Aggressively expand domestic sales program of commodities in Vietnamese Dong;
+ Full working knowledge of logistic spreads, costings, foreign exchange rates, and other elements required to offer domestic values to customers;
+ Be able to readily convert between CFR and domestic prices unassisted;
- Provide robust marketing services and daily feedback on customers’ demand for CFR purchases;
- Develop new customers as well as business opportunities and sales channels;
- Develop knowledge of basis, flat price, and futures;
- Ability to work within a team-based work environment focused on transparent communication.
Res Requirements
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor Degree with business/economic/trading background preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years commercial experience preferably, including trading and logistics in agricultural commodities.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- High level of analytical thinking with strong self-initiative;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with ease;
- Ability to work well under pressure.

- Ensure that required licenses and certifications remain current. Advise management where required licenses and certifications are suspended or revoked for any period.

- Report fit for work and follow all reasonable instructions relating to your or others’ health and safety.

- Report all hazards, near misses, incidents and injuries immediately.
- Participate in or co-operate with company OH&S initiatives and projects and attend all required safety training, including driver training where applicable.
- Ensure that company property in your use or control is well maintained and is kept in a tidy, secure and safe condition at all times.
