Responsibilities:
- To establish a generative Health & Safety Culture within the plant(s) through the promotion, management and maintenance of the Corporate, Regional and BU Health & Safety Policy, System and Guidelines; compliance and adherence to all the applicable local laws; providing expert advise on all related health & safety issues; and contribute in achieving the plant objectives
- To ensure adherence to the increasing stringent Health & Safety requirements by the local authorities (through the gazetting of new regulations and guidelines), and the organization.
- To integrate Health & Safety objectives into the business processes without disrupting the smooth operation of the organization.
- To promote and lead a world class approach to Health & Safety amongst the organization and the available contractors at their current low awareness level.
- To enhance the public image as a profitable and caring multi-national organization with a good Health & Safety record.
Requirements :
- Engineering degree, professional Health & Safety qualification or equivalence
- At least 05 years working experience with a minimum of 4 years in the field of Health & Safety (which may include at least 3 years in the management capacity); and a minimum of 3 years operational experience in the heavy/chemical industries
- Ability to understand organization behaviour, addresses its underlying problems and improves the position
- Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and sponsors new approaches and technology to promote efficiency
- Ability to strive to achieve high quality results with persistently positive in the face of challenges and setbacks.
