Position:                       Java Application Developer

Scope:

The company  requires a Java Application Developer for the implementation and support for on-going and new projects.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Work as part of a project team to design, develop and test messaging and/or web applications based on java technologies;
• Review output formats to better understand expected outputs from the system;
• Manage changes, bugs, and enhancements for the application, modify the application where necessary and test its applicability to ensure it conforms to the specifications;
• Bug test application to ensure its reliability and stability;
• Prepare the necessary project related technical documentation.
• Apply industry standards and best practices in writing and performing codes, testing and comply with security standards and policies for the produced artefacts.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

• Must have a working knowledge of applications development and technical architecture
• Must be technologically savvy, demonstrating the ability to easily adapt to new and unfamiliar technologies, software, and systems
• Must have a good understanding of business applications and web technologies
• Must have a good understanding of Web Application Security

Experience:

• At least 2 years of proven development experience with the following technologies or 5 years with similar java products:

• • Red Hat JBoss Web Server
  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform
  • Red Hat JBoss A-MQ
  • MariaDB / MySQL
  • Java Persistence API
  • Java Messaging Services
  • SOAP and REST Web Service development
  • Test Driven Development (Junit)
• • Experience in designing User interfaces based on ExtJS, AngularJS, JQuery and CSS
• Good knowledge and sound understanding of IT fundamentals and technologies pertinent to creating business solutions (software development and testing, architecture, applications, databases, integration, infrastructure and networks).
  • Agile methodologies experience (SCRUM, Kanban)

Desirable:

•     Experience in using application development frameworks and methodologies

•     Relevant industry certifications, including PRINCE2 & ITIL

The resource should have the following soft skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision.
• High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters, and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
• Ability to deliver quality results
