Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads all operations throughout the development, commercialization and production process in close collaboration with all support functions of the assigned product team.
  • Understands the product and vision of the brand.
  • Partner with HQ Development Team, Marketing, Design and Product Testing to deliver product objectives, meet calendar timelines and meet costing targets.
  • Partner with the entire product team to engineer innovative and technologically advanced products.
  • Partner with material vendors and manufacturers to develop new fabrications and processes.
  • Is an innovative source of ideas to the product team through working with related vendors and manufacturers
  • Ensures all products are developed in accordance with design and specification requirements as detailed by the HQ product team while maintaining an emphasis on performance and integrity.
  • Is able to work within development timelines without compromising product quality and design integrity.
  • Has a good understanding of supplier timelines and ensures that these delivery timelines are met.
  • Is able to co-operate and communicate well with an internationally diverse group of colleagues around the world; is able to work closely with suppliers and manufacturers.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 10 years experience working in the footwear industry in a technical capacity (strong understanding of footwear manufacturing – pattern engineering, mold making, grading, material processing, test, costing, etc). especially have the experience for Cleated shoes development. 
  • IT knowledge
  • Preferably holds a degree in a post-secondary discipline (ex. Associate’s degree, B.A, etc).

Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Check the package and construction of new products with developers from the proto stage.
  • Make early recommendations on product construction techniques and pattern solutions to ensure the design for manufacturing up to the proven and tested level at the time of sample size freeze.
  • Identify the fitting and pattern issues at the development stage to make sure that the new products are smoothly transferred to production stage.
  • Set OIB for following up from SS stage, and revise the OIB for better manufacturability if needed.   
  • Initiate tech package transfer with the sourced factory once there are dual sourced products. Make sure the tech package is completely transferred and the needed schedule/XFD are properly followed.
  • Conduct the production trial and the 1st production to make sure that all potential issues are properly solved and the operation process and quality are of consistency.
  • Hold regular meetings and/or conference calls with headquarters, sourced factory, and category teammates on product and project related activities to ensure consistency in materials, construction and production techniques that will provide expected fit and product integrity across the development and manufacturing base.
  • Collaborate with other functional teams on a regular basis to develop best practice and process efficiency project agendas, take initiative in driving the use of best practice, design for manufacturing guidelines.
  • Work closely with Engineering Management on process efficiencies, quality and performance initiatives.
  • Support innovation plans to meet category and infrastructure needs.
  • Attend the material show or equipment show outside the company if necessary.

Years of Relevant Work Experience Required:   

  • at least 5 years

Educational Level:    

  • Bachelor Degree

  • Fluent oral and written English

Description

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

  • Fully accountable for development, commercialization, product integrity, manufacturability, Create to Value (CTV), performance to target FOB of a selection of product within a category. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and commercialization process of assigned products in collaboration with Tier 1 factory personnel and technical teams.  Provides specific technical expertise to ensure effective transition of footwear design into samples and production while ensuring the manufacturability, material selection, material standards, development timeline and cost to target are met.
  • Supervise the direct development process between Headquarter/Creation Center Project Management and Tier 1 factory ensuring that Create to Value approach and product integrity is at the paramount priority and focus.
  • Supervise junior development staffs in continuous upgrades of technical applications and processes and implementation of new technology in development and engineering.
  • Manage junior team member and/or factory direct developer and contribute considerably to the achievement of team objectives.
  • Operationally, account for development/commercialization area with predefined scope of responsibilities.
  • Explain product requirement and standards to factory and /or LO teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Influence HQ (Design, Marketing, Brand Operations, Quality) and external parties (factory Development /Commercialization & Production) and drive change using principle centered vs policy driven with adi Dassler Standards as the center of focus in managing/ solving conflicts.
  • Make day to day decisions within defined scope (with support on complex issues)
  • Execute defined directives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Have development and engineering knowledge and expertise and can provide input into projects.
  • Have a strong engineering and creative mindset. 
  • With minimal input and feedback, can identify problems and provide solutions to complex development/ commercialization issues.
  • Can manage direct reports with support from line manager.
  • Good written and verbal English communication.
  • German, Chinese, Indonesia or Vietnamese language knowledge an advantage.

Requisite Education and Qualifications:

  • University degree preferably on shoe making or engineering.
  • 5+ year production, development or related experience in Footwear industry.
  • Passion and interest in athletic competition, sports or fitness related activities.
  • Production, Product Testing or development/commercialization or costing background
  • Good knowledge of shoes manufacturing process.
  • Experience in pattern engineering, mold making, grading, materials processing etc…
  • Ability to read shell patterns, 2D and 3D blueprints, spec sheets, cost breakdowns, etc…
  • Good understanding of costing principles and process; ability to decipher cost       breakdown related to products.

Purpose:

  • Establishes, manages and develops the material supply base infrastructure across LOs to meet or exceed business needs for A&G Sourcing South Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes strategic material direction for South Asia in accordance with the overall A&G sourcing material strategy.
  • Enhances Vietnam local material capabilities and establishes Indonesia source base.
  • Takes a proactive leadership role in ensuring the material supply base is driven with right process, procedures & technologies.
  • Works with BU/Material counterparts to set sourcing material strategy, aligns with the overall A&G sourcing material strategy and market trends.
  • Works closely with other different stakeholders: Hong Kong Souring Operations & Materials counterparts, Creation centers & Operation centers to deliver the sourcing needs and standards for markets.
  • Manage internal team and external teams that are responsible for material sourcing.
  • Manages material function across multiple locations in South Asia. Ensure organizational efficiency through effective motivation, training and development of direct reports.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures business relationships between group, Tier 1 suppliers and Tier 2 suppliers are maintained at the highest level of trust and integrity. Builds loyal, mutually beneficial strategic partnerships through teamwork and collaboration with T1/T2 suppliers.
  • Sets realistic benchmarks (KPI’s) and motivates direct reports to improve the overall operational performance.
  • Works closely with global quality team, understands quality expectations of A&G products, makes sure the corresponding material quality standards are delivered and implemented.
  • Monitors commodities index fluctuation and ensures regular/seasonal update to Costing function. Plays a vital support role to Costing function in material price negotiation meetings.
  • Takes the leadership for material relevant project, works with each T1 to make sure projects are successfully carried out/implemented; supports the internal projects, such as FLC, PLM, material sustainability & SPEED initiatives.
  • Conducts regular Tier 1& 2 supplier meetings.
  • Researches & introduces best practices from outside of our industry that could be applicable to accessories (hard & soft goods).

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong understanding of raw material and manufacturing processes.
  • General knowledge of sporting goods industry, accessories specific is a plus.
  • Good understanding of costing principles.
  • Analytical & project management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to act independently. 
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Knowledge of PDM, PLM, and MS Office software.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree with major in Business or Technical field
  • 5-10 years working experience in sporting goods industry.
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken.  Other Asian language is a plus.

Purpose:  

  • Lead and manage all project activities within sourcing country to optimize products for highest efficient manufacturing by use of automation systems and best production process utilization.
  • Implement consistently throughout all suppliers within sourcing country the Group product creation principles created for high efficient and high quality manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Drive manufacturing efficiency by implementing projects and process to optimize seasonally selected range of products for use of available automation systems and most streamlined production process, while maintaining product quality and performance integrity.
  • Establish & track productivity performance of seasonally selected key projects. Analyse performance data and initiate follow up action accordingly when necessary.

  • Implement adidas Group product creation principles of “simplify, standardize, modularize and enable automation” in all product creation centres with focus on seasonally selected key product ranges.
  • Collaborate actively to identify opportunities and run projects with relative Group functions in Sourcing and HQ Brand Operations such as Quality, Materials, Costing, PCT, Planning, and others as business develops.
  • Facilitates and run cross functional events, workshops and training sessions with all internal and external stakeholder in the product creation process.
  • Create seasonally best practice creation documentation and showcase examples for circulation to all product creation teams at factories, Sourcing LO teams and HQ category teams.
  • Support setting up platform for best practice and showcase exchanges.
  • Collaborate actively with peers across other sourcing location, exchange ideas & best practice examples and adopt best practices within area of responsibility.
  • Liaise with Manufacturing Excellence Apparel and A&G team to identify opportunities and learnings to be adopted for continuous drive in manufacturing efficiencies.

  • Training/Certification in Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma tools an advantage.
  • Experience in at least 2 other functions/area beside product creation (e.g. Product Costing, Materials Development, Production or Factory Operations Management)
